If an individual is thinking of coming to work for a company after having seen their immigration ads and is thinking of doing so by petitioning their extraordinary abilities, they have to figure out what to include in that petition to show that they are, indeed, extraordinary. This means being ready to prove that one is the best of the best. The easiest route to that is showing a Nobel Prize, an Olympic Medal or an Academy Award, though there are other ways to show this, too.
What to Do
When one is applying to the USCIS, they have to make sure that they give them as much specific info as they can. For those who won awards, they should be sure to show if they can, how many other people received the award during that year, how many applications were received by the organization, and the criteria the organization used.
If one won something like an award for the best paper at a conference, they should show the USCIS the acceptance rate. Finally, if one was recruited via immigration ads because of their ability to fulfill a critical role in a company, they should be sure to give information that is as detailed as possible about the work.
What Not to Do
One doesn’t have to send in all the pages of their research, if it is quite long. Indeed, it is highly unlikely that any officer will read it all. Instead, one should be sure to show the paper and the publication’s name, the date, and the fact that the individual who is being recruited via immigration ads is the author. As such, all is needed is the first page of the academic article, as well as the cover and title page of a book that is scholarly in nature.
Finally, one should be sure to be careful about the evidence they present for the membership for which one had to have some sort of outstanding achievement, since they are quite tough on this point. If the criteria for the membership one is apart of has very clear requirements for achievements, this won’t help one with their case.
Helpful
Something one may not expect but is quite helpful is having graphic representations of charts that show different points of one’s case. Indeed, because officers can’t spend a whole lot of time on each petition, having things like this can help them move faster through information. Of course, such graphs should be within reason, as having too many may just be overwhelming.
